Christmas Splendour

"Forget about sabbaticals or meditation when looking for inspiration. Ideas come when you work, you become dumb in the sun." - Karl Lagerfeld

This statement is the impetus of my Christmas blog post. I have been in mañana mode amidst swaying palm trees in the salty breeze since I got to West Palm Beach two weeks ago. These photos were taken from last Christmas when I interned with the brilliant gentleman, Barry Dixon . I blogged about the lordly Elway Hall last Halloween. This century old estate was made for the kind of entertaining that are for the legendary social books. Barry and his partner, Michael Schmidt's, passion for celebrating a beautiful life continues the tradition of its forebears. I still count my lucky stars that I experienced an Elway Christmas tradition and share these colorful memories with you. The pictures speak for the talents and effortless way Barry weaves elements of beauty into a room. Virginia Living did a fabulous holiday spread of Elway Hall that you can read here.
